Dolores Hawbaker's Obituary
Decatur-Dolores Hawbaker, 93, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Ash Flat Healthcare and Rehab Center in Ash Flat, Arkansas.
She was born December 4, 1919 in Decatur the daughter of Byron and Blanche (Hynds) Barnett. She married Paul Hawbaker February 23, 1940 in Decatur. He preceded her in death January 30, 1997.
For many years she was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper with Whitacre-McNamara Insurance Services. She was a gifted pianist and had a love of music. She was a longtime member of the Decatur Church of the Brethren.
She leaves behind her son Jerry Hawbaker and wife Barbara of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, daughter Carolyn Thomton and husband Steven of Larkspur, Colorado, grandchildren William Hawbaker of Coralville, Iowa, Dianne Maurer and husband Derek of St. Peters, Missouri, Ben Hawbaker and wife Sonja of Kolona, Iowa, Paul Coble of Dubuque, Iowa, Craig Coble and wife Kari of Dubuque, Iowa, Carrie Bull and husband Daniel of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Amy Thomton and husband Jon Marbach of Lakewood, Colorado, and Gregory Thomton and wife Sarah of Reno, Nevada, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, and stepfather Henry Bruns.
Visitation will be from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Graveside services to celebrate Dolores' life will follow at 3 p.m. in Fairlawn Cemetery with the 'Flight Home' Ceremony to conclude the service.
