Dolores C. Marty, 100, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 in her home.
Dolores was born June 25, 1913 in Clinton, IL the daughter of Martin P. and Mary (O’Dea) Dougherty. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She married Bernard Marty on June 2, 1943. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1983.
Surviving are her nieces and nephews, Kathleen Sharkey (Philip) of Decatur; Martin Dougherty (Wendy) of Herndon, VA; Michael Dougherty (Leslie) of Cullowhee, NC; Jack Dougherty (Sylvia) of Decatur; Jim Dougherty of Decatur; Patrick Dougherty (Bev) of St. Louis, MO; Dennis Dougherty (Karen) of Chatham; Timothy Dougherty of Peoria; Edward Dougherty (fiancée, Judy Hogan) of Decatur; niece-in-law Joan Dougherty of Decatur; 23 great-nieces and nephews, several great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, Arthur Dougherty, John Dougherty, Martin Dougherty, and James Dougherty, nephews David Dougherty, and niece Kay Dougherty.
The family would like to thank the staff at Keystone Meadows for all their care of Aunt Dolores.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on 11 AM Monday, May 5, 2014 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Rev. Rick Weltin as Celebrant. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Monday in the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Decatur Memorials are suggested to Our Lady of Lourdes School or St. Teresa High School.
