Dolores C. Puckett's Obituary
Dolores C. Puckett 73 of Decatur died Friday March 23, 2007 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Liturgy will be 10:00 am Tuesday March 27, 2007 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Decatur Genealogical Society.
Dolores was born August 31, 1933 in Decatur the daughter of John Edward and Faye Mildred Walker Doolin. She was a lifetime resident of Decatur, avid self taught oil painter, member of Decatur Genealogical Society for over 40 years, committee member of Decatur High School Class of 51 and a lifetime member of the PTA. She also loved to make miniature houses, wood crafts and go antiquing. She worked as a secretary for School District 61 and the Vocational Center. She was presented with an Illinois Prairie Pioneer Certificate because she was a direct descendent of John Buckles who lived in White County, Illinois in 1810. She married Martin L. Puckett on May 29, 1954 in Decatur.
She is survived by her husband, of nearly 53 years, Martin of Decatur; children: Linda F. Michael Yborra of Pekin; Janet K. James Lewis of Decatur; Martin L. Puckett of Decatur, Susan J. Puckett of Decatur; sister, Winifred Richard Ray of Decatur; brothers, Lonnie Nova Doolin of Oklahoma City, OK; Gary Doolin of Florida; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and one great-granddaughter.
She was a Loving wife, mother, grandmother and be sadly missed by her family and friends.
