Donald Buser's Obituary
Donald Lee Buser, 84, of Decatur passed away on Friday, October 12, 2012 in Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.
Don was born August 7, 1928 in Cumberland, MD the son of Roy Theodore and Ethel Mae (Davis) Buser. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy, was a member of Maranatha Assembly of God Church, and volunteered at the Water Street Mission. He was a retired Glass Cutter from PPG and a member of the United Steel Workers Union. He enjoyed crappie fishing, gardening, and woodworking. He loved sitting on his swing on the front porch. He adored his children and grandchildren. He married Donna Lee McGuire Kunz on July 7, 1992 in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife, Donna; sons, Donald l. Buser Jr. (Diana) of Cumberland, MD; Douglas W. Buser (Tammy) of Cumberland, MD; daughters, Donna L. Wrightsman (Frank) of Cumberland, MD; Dixie J. Black (Tim) of Fairmont, WV; sisters, Beverly Thomas of Rawlings, MD; Darlene Starliper (Sonny) of Martinsburg, WV; step-sons, Fredrick L. Kunz of Decatur; step-daughters, Carla m. Peavler (Douglas) of Mississippi; Terri Lee Fontaine (Jerry) of Tullahoma, TN; Carolyn M. Smith (Richard) of Kenny; Laura A. Moeller (Timothy) of Niantic; brother-in-law Donald McGuire (Charlotte) of Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 15 step-grandchildren, 11 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, 1 sister, 1 grandson, 2 step-grandsons, and 1 step-great-grandson.
Funeral service to celebrate Don's life will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in Maranatha Assembly of God Church, 555 West Imboden Drive, Decatur with Pastor Doug Lowery officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the church. Memorials may be made to the Water Street Mission or Maranatha Assembly of God Church.
