Donald Edward Crawley Sr's Obituary
Donald Edward Crawley Sr., 87, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away December 25, 2024, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Donald was born in Decatur on October 13, 1937, the son of Ervin and Gladys (Edwards) Crawley. He married Marilyn Binkley on May 24, 1955, in Decatur, Illinois. They enjoyed over 46 years together until her death on February 28, 2002. Donald worked in the machine shop at AE Staley’s for 37 years. In his spare time, was an avid racer at Macon Speedway. He also enjoyed fishing, watching the Cardinals play, and supporting Donald Trump.
Donald is survived by his sons David E. (Donna) Crawley of Decatur, Donald E. (Gayle) Crawley Jr. of Decatur, Albert E. (Shelly) Crawley of Decatur, and Jim E. (Renee) Crawley of Decatur; brother Charles Crawley of Arizona; sister Judy Tish of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; friend Dana; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marilyn; son Clifford Crawley; brothers Bobby Crawley, Albert Crawley, Ervin “Buddy” Crawley, and Terry Crawley; sisters Nancy Crawley, Shirley Cook, Beverly James, Virginia Nall, and Sandra Berry; and daughter-in-law Jerri Crawley.
Funeral services for Donald will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9am and will be followed by a funeral service at 11am.
