Donald M. Dickey's Obituary
Donald M. Dickey, 89, of Decatur formerly of Mechanicsburg passed away at 11:35 am Thursday April 06, 2006 in Lincoln Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral Services celebrating his life will be 2 pm Saturday April 08, 2006 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, where visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will follow immediately after in Macon County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Shiners' Hospital for Children. Moran & Goebel Funeral Home is assisting the Dickey family with these arrangements.
Don was born in Decatur on July 09, 1916 the son of Samuel and Stella Dickey. He was an electrician for many years working for Houdial Hershey then later was self employed as a building contractor. Don married Thelma Kent on July 25, 1940 in Mechanicsburg; she preceded him in death on December 2, 1986. Don was of the Methodist faith.
Don is survived by his daughter; Rhonda Mark Gooding of Decatur and Dennis Judy Dickey of Williamsville, grandchildren; Sara and Andrea Gooding, one niece; Cynthia Dickey of California and one nephew John Dickey also of California.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brothers; Kenneth and Everett, one sister in infancy.
