Donald R. Gepford's Obituary
Decatur – Donald R. Gepford, 89, of Decatur passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in Decatur.
Don was born September 30, 1927, in Decatur, the son of Sylvan R. and Grace E. (Heft) Gepford. Although, Don was a retired farmer he really enjoyed selling farm land. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Golden K, Lions Club, former member of Richland Community College Board and proud member of the ROMEO Club. After retiring, Don and Wilma enjoyed traveling the world. They especially loved Holland, Costa Rica and Australia. Don married Wilma J. Brett March 18, 1951 in Decatur and they just recently celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary.
Surviving is his wife, Wilma of Decatur; son, John R. (Kathleen) Gepford and daughter, Sharon A. Gepford of Decatur; grandchildren: Jason Gepford and Laura Greenleaf of Decatur; niece, Janet Rowell and nephew, David Doss; other relatives and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Leah Doss.
Private family graveside services will be held in Boiling Springs Cemetery. A memorial service to celebrate Don’s life will be held at 3 pm, Saturday, May 13, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, Decatur. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.
