Donald Homer Hodges' Obituary
Decatur-Donald Homer Hodges, 75, of Decatur, passed away at 2:26 a.m. Wednesday, May 04, 2011, in St. Francis Hospital in Peoria.
Donald was born on February 26, 1936 in Moweaqua, IL the son of Homer and Eulala Fuller Hodges. He served his country honorably in the US Army and was employed at Tate & Lyle for 30 years. He married Barbara Davis on October 23, 1988 in Hannibal, MO.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara; children: Christine Hobson Mike, April Mahan Jeff, Marcella Schanuel Joseph, Amelia Buttrum Tony, Donna Johnson, Donald Hodges, Ty Mitchell, Nicholas Mitchell Rhonda, and Scott Mitchell; brothers, twin Ronald Hodges, Gary Lee Hodges, Rogers Williams, and Randy Williams; sister, Ruth Ann Scrimpsher; 23 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; special grand-daughter Amanda Mitchell; best friends, Rick and Pam Nanna.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ernest Ray Hodges, and one grandson, Jame Byran Mitchell.
Funeral Service celebrating the life of Donald will be 10:00 am Monday May 9, 2011 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4-6 pm Sunday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Old Stonington Cemetery with Military honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.
