Donald Ralph Kush, 89, of Decatur died on Saturday August 6, 2016 in McKinley Court Care Center.
Don was born on April 11, 1927 in Decatur the son of Edward and Laura (Boltz) Kush. He married Lois Jean Garver on September 7, 1947.
Don was a 1945 graduate of Decatur High School, served in the U.S. Army for 2 years, and worked at Staley’s for 34 years. After retirement he worked part-time for the Decatur Park district, first at Nelson Park Pro Shop, then later as a ranger at Fairies Golf Course.
He is survived by his son Tom (Cathy), and step-granddaughter Beth Ryan all of Maryland Heights, MO.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lois Jean, parents, 5 brothers, Edwin, Leonard, Paul, Franklin, and William.
Visitation will be 2-4 PM Thursday, August 11, 2016 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Private family burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to McKinley Court Care Center, 500 W. McKinley Ave, Decatur, IL 62526.
The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff at McKinley Court for the exceptional and loving care that they provided for Don and Jean.
