Donald Lowe's Obituary
Donald Lowe, 76, of Decatur went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 10, 2014 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Don was born on March12, 1938 in Niantic the son of George and Pearl (Coffee) Lowe. He married Sandy J. Owens on June 19, 1955. He was a member of Harristown Camp Wilson Four Square Church where he was an usher. He owned and operated Lowe’s Disposal for 25 years from there he worked for Kelly Construction for 10 years before retiring.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 59 years, Sandy; children, Rick G. Lowe; Vicky J. Mathias (Lowe); Christine A. Coggan (Lowe) and husband Kevin; Ronnie L. Lowe; Tonya M. Lowe; and Amy S. Lowe all of Decatur; sister, Betty Meador of Decatur; brother, Steve Lowe of Decatur; grandchildren, Holly Jenkins, Abby and Wade Lowe, Cory Hendricks, Casey Lee, Colby and Christin Mathias, Jonathan Coggan, Julie Jump, Amanda Moran, Andrew Collier, Camren and Madyson Lowe, Blake & Elijah Lowe, and Alexis Lowe; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Jacob, Emma, Calie, Cooper, and Lia; lifelong friend, Paul McKinney; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Penny L. Collier, grandson, Ronnie Lowe Jr., brothers, Staley and Stanley, Larry, Gary, Wilbur, George, and Danny; sisters, Iona and Melba.
Don loved to be with his family, his garden, and our family camp outs. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He was the greatest Dad and Papa ever!
The family would like to thank everyone for the love they showed through their visits, giving and most of all their prayers throughout dad’s illness.
Funeral Service celebrating Donald’s life will be 12 Noon on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in Harristown Camp Wilson Four Square Church with Pastor Brian Canaday officiating. Visitation will be 10AM -12 Noon Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in the Harristown Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Harristown Camp Wilson Four Square Church
