Donald Lowe's Obituary
Donald E. Lowe, 90, of Decatur passed away on Sunday June 18, 2007 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Don was born on October 17, 1926 in Decatur, IL the son of Russell A. and Flossie Mae (Adkins) Lowe. He entered the U.S. Navy during WWII at the age of 17 and later became a Naval Signalman on the U.S.S. Shangri-La from December 1943 to October 1947. He retired from Mueller Company. He was a self taught man when it came to Repairing CB Radios, anything electronic, or computers. He married Margaret B. Musgraves on March 20, 1948 and they had six children.
Surviving are his daughters, Diane Little of Decatur; Corine Y. Lowe of Chicago; and Dorine Y. Lowe of Decatur; 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sons: Virgil E. Lowe, Richard D. Lowe, and Donald Allen Lowe.
Funeral service to celebrate Don’s life will be 10 AM Thursday, June 22, 2017 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honor’s conducted by the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County. Memorials are suggested to VFW Post #99.
