Donald W. Maddox's Obituary
Donald W. 'Don' Maddox, 75, of Decatur, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008, in his home.
Don was born July 14, 1932, in Decatur the son of Wayne Everett and Hazel Mae Burns Maddox. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was an avid fisherman and Chicago Cubs fan. Don was affiliated with St. John's Lutheran Church and worked as an installer for Illinois Bell until retiring in March of 1992. He married Sandra R. Harrison June 24, 1974 in Las Vegas, NV.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra of Decatur; daughters: Kathy Bruce Klaus of Decatur, and Kathryn 'Annie' Maddox of Tampa, FL; granddaughter, Stephanie Klaus of Decatur; sisters: Mary Gene King of Lafayette, IN, and Regina Peoples of Harristown; brothers: Jack Sue Maddox and Dale Susie Maddox all of Decatur; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant sons.
Graveside services will be 3 pm Saturday, January 19, 2008, at North Fork Cemetery, Pastor Russell Weise officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. There will be no visitation. Memorials: Lutheran School Association or DMH Hospice.
