Donald W. Riddle's Obituary
Donald William Riddle, 82, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015 in Decatur Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
Funeral service to celebrate the life of Donald W. Riddle will be 11 AM Friday, September 11, 2015 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10 – 11 AM Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery and conclude with the “Flight Home” ceremony.
Donald was born on April 21, 1933 in Decatur the son of Earl E. and Francis L. (Moore) Riddle.
Don worked all his life in the construction trades. He was a member of Builders & Common Laborer’s Local 159, Teamster & Chauffeurs Local 279, A. E. Staley Manufacturing Company, and Fairbanks-Morse Scale Company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and boating in his earlier years. His greatest passion was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Don is survived by his three children: Donald E. Riddle (Carol A. Riddle), Hurricane, Utah, Karen Sue White (Robert C. White) Decatur, Illinois, and Steven W. Riddle (Jennifer Peters) Decatur, Illinois. Grandchildren, Michael L. Riddle (Jennifer), Jennifer S. Tomlin (Richard) all of Decatur, Illinois, Ashley L. Riddle, Hurricane, Utah, Chesney D. Galindo (Juan), LaVerkin, Utah, Nickolas Sumpter, Decatur, Illinois, and Dalton Black, Decatur, Illinois. Great Grandchildren, Griffin and Gillian Riddle Decatur, Illinois, Cort and Camille Galindo, LaVerkin, Utah and Kami Tomlin, Decatur, Illinois. Also sister Helen Smith (Arthur), Decatur, Illinois, brother Earl Leonard Riddle (Linda), Decatur, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Francis and brother Melvin “Red” Riddle.
