Donald Merlin Stare 99 of Paris formerly of Decatur died Thursday March 31, 2005 in Paris Health Care.
Funeral services will be 11:30 am Monday April 4, 2005 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10:00- 11:30 am Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery with Military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the charity of donors choosing. Donald was born on January 28, 1906 in Hammond, IL the son of Charlie and Ada Fisher Stare. He was a retired Brakeman for the Wabash Rail Road and a WWII US Army Veteran. He was a member of Elks Lodge #401 and the Retired Railroaders. He also managed the Trail Riders for many years. He married Hazel N. Rhodes in 1932 at Paxton she preceded him in death in September of 1980.
Surviving are his sister, Charlotte Hoyt of Arthur; sisters-in-law, Haline Travis of Decatur; and Elizabeth Elston of Arthur; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife.
