Donald M. Venturelli's Obituary
Clearwater, Florida – Donald M. Venturelli, 86, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015, in Clearwater Florida.
Donald was born July 5, 1928, in St. Louis, MO, the son of Marco and Stella (Krzton) Venturelli. A member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and a U.S. Marine veteran, Donald worked as a lawyer here in Decatur for many years. In addition to the church, Donald was a member of the Illinois and Decatur Bar Association, an avid member of numerous bridge clubs, a past champion of the Decatur celebration bocce tournament and a longtime softball player. He married Mary K. Suits on August 23, 1951 in Hillsboro and she preceded him in death on August 18, 2011. Also preceding him in death were his parents, son Michael, and brothers: Frank, Joe and Paul David.
Surviving is his son Jeff (Jean) Venturelli of Clearwater, FL; grandchildren: Marisa Venturelli of Clearwater, FL, and Daniel (Kristin Juneau) Venturelli and great grandson Bryant of Green Bay, WI; sisters: Rosalie (George) Schneider of St. Louis, MO, Rita Powell of New Orleans, LA, Lillian Mitchell of Effingham, IL, Linda Calise of North Port N.Y., and Jeannie Venturelli of Springfield, IL; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, colleagues, and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate his life will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2015, in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; Rev. Richard Weltin, celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior in the church. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery, Hillsboro, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
