Donna Marie Meinhold, 95, of Decatur, IL passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 26, 2024 with her daughter Lisa by her side following a short illness. She was born April 5, 1929 in Sterling, IL. Her parents were John and Read Obituary

Donna……such an inspiration to me and i am sure others. I met her at stretch class at the Arbors. I saw her out regularly walking…..she made laugh with her quick wit….such a tiny person with a big heart and determination. I have taken pictures of her walking…..she was and is my inspiration and i told her so. Donna would come to my door several times, if she did not see me out walk-in, and would tell to get out walk! She always made me smile. I miss her.
Donna…such an inspiration to me and others. I met her at stretch class at the Arbors. I saw her out walking regularly…she made me laugh with her quick wit. Such a tiny( in structure) person with a great big heart and strong determination. I have taken several pictures of out walking… she was and is my inspiration and I told her so. She would ask me, “am I too noisy out walking with my walker ?” It never surprised if Donna would stop and knock at my door and ask why I wasn’t out walking! She always made me smile. I miss her.
Donna and I became friends many years ago when we were teaching together at Oak Grove School. I respected her as a teacher and then we began to gather “after hours”. She was so spunky and energetic. She knew so many people and always had “words of wisdom”. I appreciated her friendship and was blessed to know her. I’ll miss looking for “Snoopy gifts” to give to her and our Coffee Dates (plain black coffee for Donna)! She was one of a kind and a special friend. I know as a “fellow Lutheran”, we will meet again. ❤️🙏

Donna was a dear friend. She was my all time substitute when I was teaching. She was fun, interested in what was happening with you and always a friend. I have several of her special pillows and remembrances of delicious cookies and goodies that she always shared.
