Donna L. Mendenall's Obituary
Donna L. Mendenall, 79, of Decatur passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 in Heritage Manor, Mt. Zion.
Donna was born on April 27, 1935 in Maroa the daughter of Winfield and Eunice (Roberts) Pennypacker. She worked for the Decatur Police Department retiring after 34 years of service. She was a member of the DAV Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed golfing with and taking care of her family, and was a hard worker. She married Troy Mendenall Jr. on May 26, 1958 in Decatur. He preceded her in death on August 26, 2006.
Surviving are her children, Shelly Eaton (Budd) of Decatur; Dan Mendenall (Cris) of Decatur; Teresa Lamb (Rob) of Decatur; Dayne Mendenall (Trisha) of Decatur; Troy Mendenall III of Danville, VA; sister, Carla Reynolds (AL) of Mt. Zion; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews who were very special to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a grand-daughter.
Funeral service to celebrate Donnas’ life will be 10 AM Thursday, April 23, 2015 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Lester Barnett Memorial Cemetery in Long Creek Township. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer Association or the American Cancer Society.
