Donovan G. Brewner's Obituary
Moweaqua-Donovan “Bruno” Brewner, Sr., 80, of Moweaqua formerly of Decatur, passed away 11:55 pm Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Moweaqua Nursing and Retirement Center.
Bruno was born December 15, 1930 in Harrisburg, IL the son of Walter and Christina Moore Brewner. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. He was employed by A.E. Staley Co. as a laborer and retired in 1987 after 37+ years of service. Bruno married Jenese Crum on November 1, 1953 in Decatur.
Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife of over 57 years, Jenese; daughters Cathy Shaw of Naples, Idaho and Debi Bill Smith of Auburn, IL; sons Don, Jr. Bev Brewner of Decatur, IL and Howie Leilani Brewner of Oakley, IL; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Bruno was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, 3 infant siblings, and 1 great-grandson.
Graveside services to celebrate Bruno’s life will be 2:30 pm Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Hall Cemetery in Blue Mound, IL with Pastor Don Horath officiating. Services will conclude with Military rites by the Macon County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 1 – 2:00 pm Tuesday at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home concluding with the “Flight Home” ceremony. Memorial donations may be directed to the Moweaqua Nursing and Retirement Center.
