Dora R. "Dodie" Collenberger's Obituary
Dora R. “Dodie” Collenberger, 82, of Decatur, passed away Sunday Evening, March 15, 2015 at Decatur Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Dora was born November 13, 1932, in Decatur to Kenneth and Leola (Sever) England. She married Bernus “Bud” Elwin Collenberger on February 11,1961. He passed in April of 1987. Dora worked for Staley’s as a blue print operator. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved playing Bingo.
She is survived by her three daughters, Cindi (Curt) Hill of Lima, OH, Barb (Mark) Taylor and Diana Collenberger both of Decatur; three grandchildren, Eric (Leslie) Moore of Springfield, Darrin Moore and Justin Taylor both of Decatur; two great-grandchildren, Maddie and Abby Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bernus “Bud”.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all the staff on the 4th floor at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Private family services to celebrate the life of Dodie Collenberger will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial will be in Ponting Cemetery in Stonington. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated to a charity of their choice.
