Doris A. Cole's Obituary
Doris A. Cole, 76, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in Hickory Point Christian Village in Forsyth.
Doris was born October 18, 1937 in Decatur to Thomas and Ruby(Meadows) Moore. She was a 1956 graduate of Stephen Decatur High School. She married William Cole on March 9, 1956 in Mt. Carmel, IL. He passed away on January 28, 1997. She was a cook for Decatur Memorial Hospital for many years. She was PTA President and Girl Scout Leader of Sunny Side School in Warrensburg-Latham. She was a watercolor artist and loved to read.
She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ellen Tatro of Decatur; two brothers, Carl (Connie) Moore of Decatur and Charles Moore of Pasadena, CA; two sisters, Mary Jo Harrison of Decatur and Elizabeth Hagen of Decatur; one grandson, Mark Robertson of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Moran &Goebel Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mowequa Oddfellows Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
