Doris Wilma Moore's Obituary
Doris Wilma Moore ,91, got to “go home” Dec. 29, 2022. She was born Feb. 28, 1931, in Meredosia, IL to Jesse and Mary (Jones) Nunn. She married Wendell Eugene Moore June 19, 1949. They brought four children into this world and celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Doris graduated from Meredosia High School in 1949 and two years later moved to Decatur, IL. She worked for 44 years at several banks and real estate companies including Tom Brinkoetter Realtors, GMAC, and First Mutual Bank as a mortgage loan officer from where she retired.
Doris never knew a stranger. She always had a quick smile and hand outstretched. She and Wendell spent every opportunity with family and friends on the water, boating and fishing. Not only did they frequent Lake Decatur and Lake Shelbyville, but traveled to many states and enjoyed boating on their lakes and rivers. Doris was a wonderful cook and made delicious meals at home and in the boat galley. She loved spoiling Wendell, her children, and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Glenn) Tiede of Decatur, sons Randall (Shelley Foster) Moore of Clearwater FL., Alan (Rita) Moore of Clinton IL. Mark E. Moore of Decatur; Six grandchildren, Six greatgrandchildren, and sixteen nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wendell; three brothers, Verlin Whitlock, Gail Nunn, and Donald Nunn; four sisters, Vivian (Whitlock) Nunn, Mardell Lidgard, Lila Dunlap, and Donna Cooley.
Special thanks to Imboden Creek Senior Living for the loving care of Doris for the past 2 ½ years.
Services will be held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Decatur Salvation Army of The Central Illinois Food Bank.
