Doris Marie Roberts' Obituary
Doris Marie Roberts, 76, of Decatur, died on Monday, Sept. 18, 2006 in Kindred Hospital Sycamore Illinois.
Memorial services celebrating her life will be 11 am Mon Sept 25, 2006 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church Forsyth, Pastor John Hafermann officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorials are suggested to: Kindred Hospital or SIU School of Medicine.
Doris was born on Nov. 20, 1929 in Mt. Zion, the daughter of Ralph and Eugenia Rutherford Crum. A housewife and a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Doris married James H. Roberts on April 30, 1950 in Decatur. Doris was a devoted wife and a caring mother and grandmother. The greatest joy of her life was raising her family.
Surviving is her husband of more than 56 years, James of Decatur; son, Jim Roberts Jr. of Decatur; granddaughter, Kim Hollman of Decatur and grandson, Jerry Cartier of Decatur; brothers: Hubert Ada Crum of Tuscola, Kenneth Shirley Crum of Champaign; sister, Jenese Don Brewner of Decatur; close friend, Melody Bowrey of Decatur; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Barbara Ann; brother, John Crum and sisters: Margaret Mathes and Dorothy Roberts.
The family of Doris Marie Roberts is being served by the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, 2801 N. Monroe St. Decatur.
