Dorothy M Adams' Obituary
Dorothy Adams, 92, of Decatur passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Dorothy was born on December 13, 1921 in Decatur, IL the daughter of Lafern and Lawrence A. (Poe) Bland. She worked for the FBI in Washington D.C. during WWII and worked for the Federal Government as Communications Manager for 36 years for the General Service Administration.
She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. She married Charles Marion Adams on December 4, 1945 in Decatur. He preceded her in death on July, 29, 1999.
Surviving are her sons, Anthony Adams (Elizabeth) of Decatur; Larry Adams of Decatur; daughter, Lynn Thomas (Terry) of Fremont, MI; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters.
Services to celebrate God’s gift of eternal life for Dorothy will be 1 PM Saturday, November 15, 2014 in Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Damery officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Friday in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Twp. Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church or Northeast Community Fund.
