Dorothy A. Collins 83 of Decatur passed away Tuesday August 3, 2004 at 5:05 am in St. Mary's Hospital.
Services will be 11:00 am Friday August 6, 2004 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Brown of Central Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Dorothy was born on October 4, 1920 in Fayette County, IL the daughter of Ellis E. and Cora A. Warren Cole. She was employed by several factories during her lifetime, beginning with a shoe factory in Vandalia, the later in an airplane parts plant in California, and finally retired from General Electric plant in Decatur. She married Floyd Emerick, George P. Lawler, and John B. Collins. They all preceded her in death.
Surviving are her step-daughters Patricia Tennyson and Rosemary Dicken; brother Burl Cole; sisters, Tessie Radliff and Donna Thompson all of Decatur; many nieces and nephews, four step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and many friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Her family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to Dr. Richard Fritz, St. Mary's Hospital sixth floor Staff, Clergy, and all others involved, for their Kindness, loving care, and prayers during her illness.
