Dorothy Pauline Deem's Obituary
Dorothy Pauline Deem, 86, of Decatur passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 in her daughter’s home with her family by her side.
Dorothy was born February 18, 1932 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Everett D. Hinton. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Dorothy belonged to Saints James & Patrick Parish. Dorothy enjoyed knitting and loved her pet Chihuahuas. She married Darrell Morris Deem March 20, 1949.
Surviving are her three children Darrell (Priscilla) Deem, Dorothy (Gary) Ruff, and Todd Deem, one brother James Hinton, one sister Sue (Ed) Banton, six grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Darrell, son Tim Deem, and one brother Phillip Hinton.
The family would like to thank Father John Burnette for all of his visits, prayers, and support.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be 11:00 AM Thursday, March 1, 2018 in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 407 E Eldorado St, Decatur, with Rev. John Burnette, celebrant. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will be at Long Point Cemetery in Niantic.
