Dorothy J. Moran, 90, of Decatur, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 11, 2003 in St. Mary's Hospital.
Private Funeral Liturgy will be 2 P.M. Monday, April 14, 2003 in J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home with Fr. James O'Shea officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials to Donor's Choice.
Dorothy was born in Decatur on August 24, 1912, the daughter of Fred and Margaret Fraser Peebles. Dorothy was a homemaker, a graduate of Decatur High School and attended Brown's Business College. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, charter member of St. Mary's Auxiliary, and past co-chairman of the Catholic Charity Ball. Dorothy along with her husband James J. Moran Jr. were previous owners of J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. Dorothy and "Jimmy" were married on October 24, 1934 in Decatur, and "Jimmy" preceded her in death on April 28, 1995.
Surviving are her daughters: Patricia Grant Walter and Carol Moran all of Decatur; son in law, Terry Peters of Decatur; grandchildren: James Grant Cheryl, Cheryl Jackson Brad, Mary Bolletta William, and Brian Peters. Great grandchildren: Lauren and Bennett Jackson, Matthew and Erin Bolletta; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Her parents; husband; daughter, Katherine Peters; sister, Mary M. Peters; and brother, C.W. "Chuck" Peebles preceded her in death.
