Dorothy Loraine Tennyson's Obituary
Dorothy L. Tennyson, 86, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Dorothy was born October 29, 1925 in Pontiac daughter of John and Cecilia McGaugh Bauer. A member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Dorothy worked alongside her husband Glen in Real Estate for many years. She also volunteered at Catholic Charities. She and Glen were married July 29, 1950 in Chicago and he preceded her in death November 28, 2003. Also preceding her in death were her parents; son, John Tennyson; granddaughter, Nicole; brother, Don and sister, Mildred.
Dorothy was a member of the Elks Auxiliary, American Legion 105 Auxiliary, Veteran of Foreign War Auxiliary and a life time member of Disabled Veterans.
Surviving are her daughters: Glenda Benjamin Van Scyoc of Decatur, Paula Bradley Morris of Iowa; son, Dale L. Tennyson of Decatur; sister, Barb Collins of Mt. Zion; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside service celebrating her life will be 1:30 pm, Saturday, March 24, 2012 in Macon County Memorial Park, Rev. Richard Weltin celebrant. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes. Memorials may be made to the family.
