Douglas M. Brumleve's Obituary
Douglas Michael Brumleve, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025 surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Doug was given to us on October 31, 1956, parented by Gerald “Jeep” and Rita Brumleve in Effingham, IL and later raised in Decatur, IL. Doug lived a life filled with simple joys, unwavering dedication, and love for those around him.
Doug spent his life as a hardworking and proud pipe fitter. Outside of work, he found joy in the things that truly mattered—spending time with friends and family, where laughter and fellowship were always in abundance. He was also an avid pool player, known for his steady hand, sharp eye, and love for friendly competition.
Above all, Doug’s greatest pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. He cherished every moment watching them grow and celebrating their accomplishments. He will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Doug leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will be treasured forever.
Doug is survived by his partner in life, Velma, his four children and six grandchildren, brother Bruce wife Becki of Dewitt and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation and funeral mass celebrating Doug’s life will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, with visitation from 10am until the mass time of 11am. Burial will follow in Boiling Springs Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a moment to enjoy life’s simple pleasures, just as Doug always did.
