Eleanor Arlene Curry 61 of Decatur died at 5:17am Friday August 27, 2004 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Graveside Inurnment rites will be held at 1 pm Wednesday September 1, 2004 in Macon County Memorial Park, visitation will be Tuesday August 31, 2004 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home from 6-8 pm. Memorials may be given to the family to purchase a monument for the cemetery Honorary Pallbearers are her nephews and great nephews. Arlene was born on August 6, 1943 in Decatur the daughter of John Thomas and D. Kathryn Barding Curry. She was a member of Prairie Avenue Christian Church and Lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a self employed seamstress for many years, as well worked in Earl’s Tailor shop and the Decatur Hotel for many years. She enjoyed and loved to sew, spend time with her family, read, loved to play Yahtzee, she enjoyed playing Bingo at the Stonington American Legion Hall. She loved her companion cat “Precious”
She leaves behind to cherish fond memories her four brothers; Thomas Curry of Mims, Florida, Laurence Daniel Curry of Marston Mills, MA., Donald Wayne Curry and wife Mary Ann and Aldin James Curry and wife Connie. A sister – in – law Bette Curry all of Decatur, special nieces and nephew; Mary, Sarah, Ruth , Paul and her birthday Niece Lori.- many other nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews, she is also survived by her long time friend Carolyn Tappendorf.
Arlene was proceeded in death by both of her parents, sister and brother in-law Alice and Thomas Krekel and brother Raymond Curry, niece Teresa Krekel and nephew Stephen Curry.
