Edith C. Hunsley's Obituary
Edith C. Hunsley, 79, of Decatur, passed away Friday, January 6, 2012 in Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
Edith was born July 26, 1932 in Decatur, the daughter of Henry and Helen Erwin Laskowski, Sr. A member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Edith worked as the director of Kinder Care Learning Center on Monroe St. for many years. After that she went to work for Aramark Food Service at French Academy. She married Roy Allen Hunsley June 23, 1951 in Decatur and he preceded her in death January 8, 2004. Also preceding her in death were her parents, sisters: Ethel and Janet and son-in-law, Ron Boyer.
Surviving are her children: Mindy Lynn Bremer of Valparaiso, IN, Monica Boyer of Decatur and Mark Diane Hunsley of Lincoln; grandchildren: Matthew and Anna Bremer, Zachary and Emily Boyer, Bryce, Brent and Katie Hunsley; brothers: Hank Louise Laskowski, Jr. and Robert Linda Laskowski of Decatur; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 10, 2012 from 5 to 7 pm in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Services to celebrate her life will be 10 am Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, West Wood Street. Burial will follow in Point Pleasant Cemetery concluding with the “Flight Home Ceremony.” Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Children’s Ministry or another Children’s organization of donors choosing.
