Edith Mae Shafer's Obituary
Edith Mae Shafer, 62, of Decatur passed away on Tuesday April 13, 2010 in St. Mary's Hospital.
Edith was born on April 21, 1947 in Decatur the daughter of Jesse and Betty Kalips Ingram. She worked as a Beauty Consultant at Walgreen's on Ash. She was a member of South Shores Christian Church. She married Ronald M. Shafer Sr. on November 19, 1970 in Clinton, IL.
Surviving are her husband, Ronald; children Christina Minich Jeff of Niantic; Vickie Kelly Roy of Decatur; Veronica Cox Michael of Bettendorf, IA; Ronald M. Shafer Jr. of Decatur; step-daughters, Monica Perry Randy of Decatur; Cindy Rogers Tim of Decatur; Sheri Mc Cay Shawn of Long Creek; brother, Jesse Ingram Jr. Linda of Decatur; sisters, Mary Smith Glen of Decatur Betty Fuchs of Dalton City; Diane Keller Rob of Bloomington; 21 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two grandchildren.
The family would like to thank St. Mary's Hospital ICU second floor and seventh floor extended care nurses and staff for all their wonderful care and attention to Edith and the family.
Memorial service will be 11:00 am Saturday April 17, 2010 in South Shores Christian Church with Steve Ingram officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Church.
