Edna Mae McKey's Obituary
Edna Mae McKey, 84, of Decatur, died on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006 in her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Rev. Jeff Grant celebrant. Visitation will be Thurs from 5 to 8 pm in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with a vigil prayer service at 4:30 pm. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Edna was born on May 31, 1922 in Monticello, the daughter of Anton and Florence Stephens Schneider. A member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Edna worked at the soda fountain counter at Roth Johnson's Drug Store and then in the cafeteria for Illinois Power. She married Edward S. "Bud" McKey on Sept. 16, 1941 in St. Louis, MO. and he preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1996.
Surviving are her sons: Michael Kathy McKey and Thomas Kim McKey all of Decatur; daughters: Sandra Gene Nicholson of Mt. Zion and Cindy David Kates of Decatur; nine grandchildren, one great granddaughter, one step grandson, three step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews
Edna was a woman of faith. She loved her family and loved to play bingo.
The family would like to thank Dr. Estrada-Garcia and everyone at Cancer Care Specialists and DMH Hospice.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and three sisters.
