Edna M. Neff's Obituary
Edna M. Neff, 102, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016, in Symphony of Decatur.
Edna was born October 4, 1913, in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Joe and Cleda (Guffey) Jay. She was a member of Antioch Christian Church in Decatur, and a lifetime member of VFW Women’s Auxiliary Post #99. Edna used to work for Mrs. Eva Kirkland and the Mueller Family in Decatur. She retired from Carter-Wallace Pharmaceutical Company in 1975 after many years of service. In her spare time, Edna loved reading her Bible. Edna loved everybody, and she was an angel to everyone who met her. Edna married Willis Franklin Neff on August 17, 1946, and they shared 52 wonderful years together. Willis passed away on December 19, 1998.
Edna leaves behind her sister, Dora Miner of Mulberry, FL; special niece, Kathy (Craig) Hanks of Decatur; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, and four sisters.
Services to celebrate Edna’s life will be 1 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2016, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bement Cemetery in Bement, IL following funeral services. Memorials in memory of Edna may be made to the Antioch Christian Church. The family requests for people to be comfortable and wear casual attire to the services.
