Edna Louise Taylor's Obituary
Decatur- Edna Taylor, 69, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015, in Decatur Memorial Hospital, with her family by her side.
Edna was born on November 23, 1945 in Brownsville, Tennessee, the daughter of Charlie and Bertha (Owens) Taylor. She graduated from Eisenhower High School, and worked for PPG, until she retired with twenty-nine years of service. Edna was a life time member of the New Salem Baptist Church, a member of the United Steel Workers, a member of the Decatur Genealogical Society, a member of the Church Women United, and a member of the Decatur Visitors Bureau. She enjoyed genealogy, baking cakes, and spending time with family.
Home going services to celebrate Edna’s life will be 11 am, Saturday, June 27, 2015, in the New Salem Baptist Church, 352 West Wood St., Decatur, IL 62523. Visitation will be on Friday, June 26, 2015 from 5pm-7pm at New Salem Baptist Church. Interment will be at the Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the New Salem Baptist Church.
Cherishing her memories are her sisters, Evelyn (George) Strong of Decatur, IL, Alma (Arthur Young Jr.) Young, of Decatur, IL, Bertha Lee (William) Gibbs of Decatur, IL; aunts, Addie M. Owens of Brownsville, TN., Victoria Owens of Saginaw, MI; fourteen nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins, and other family members.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Otis Carter, and Hubert Carter.
