Edward Karol McRoberts' Obituary
Edward Karol McRoberts, 76, of Decatur, left this world for a better one on Monday, February 02, 2004 in St. Mary's Hospital, where all the nurses on the sixth floor and ICU took very good care of him. They were "wonderful" he would say. He always enjoyed visiting with them. Even when he was sick he considered them his friends as well as caregivers. Thanks to all of you!
Services celebrating his life will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 06, 2004 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Edward Karol McRoberts was born on February 09, 1927, in Decatur, the son of Edward N. and Mabel M. Cooper McRoberts. He held many different jobs in his lifetime, the last being with Waite-Cahill Wholesale Warehouse where at the age of 37 he had to retire due to blindness. One thing can be said of him, he didn't know a stranger. He loved people. He often said "I can talk to anyone who will talk to me". He will be greatly missed by many.
Surviving are his brother, Wendell McRoberts Sr., wife Helen of Decatur; sister, I. Darlene McIntyre, husband Robert of Decatur; sister in law, Matilda McRoberts of Paxton; he leaves three nieces, four nephews, eight great nieces, nine great nephews, six great-great nieces, and two great-great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arnold L. McRoberts and sister, Elnora E. McRoberts.
The family would like to thank Dr. Newlin, Dr. Sheth, Dr. Simpson and the many other Doctors who have given him such good care. He appreciated each and every one of you. We would also like to thank the staff at McKinley Court and Heritage Manor for their compassion and care.
Ed may have been blind and of late couldn't walk, but know he can see and he is back on his feet again. Which is what he always wanted
