We did not know Ed until I became involved with trying to bring an LST back as a Museum Ship to commemorate what these ships did in the war. Ed was an integral part in that he located the ship in Greece. Then a bunch of dedicated WWII and Korean vets (and one Vietnam era vet) decided to sail that ship home. The rest is history. We were honored to have known Ed and Eileen and certainly will miss his smile, his dedication, and generosity. He made a sign that said, "Across these decks walked the oldest sailors in the world." That sign kept ending up in the dumpster, but Ed continually retrieved it and it lives on the ship today. Thanks Ed. Fair winds and following seas. Our sympathy and prayers go out to Eileen and his family.(Capt.) Bob and Lois Jornlin
