Edward Williams' Obituary
Edward Williams, 64, of Decatur went to be with the Lord on Tuesday May 18, 2010 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Edward was born July 28, 1945 in Decatur the son of Arthur and Violet Sanlin Williams. He was a retired member of Laborers Union Local 159 and a past member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church. He was a kind and humble man. His smile would make you smile. He will be truly missed by everybody who knew him.
He leaves not to mourn but cherish fond memories, his son, Johnny William Arena of Decatur; daughter, Lavetta Williams of Decatur; brothers, Harvey Williams Geneal and Charles Williams both of Decatur; sisters, Ann West of Ypsilanti, MI; Viola Williams of Ann Arbor, MI; Sheryl Munetsi of Ypsilanti, MI; Alma Jean Price of Ann Arbor, MI; Linda Williams of Chicago; Katherine Jackson-Brown of Decatur; ex-wife, Maurine Williams of Decatur; grandchildren, Takiah Dennis, Maurtrekus Kennedy, Chontelle Williams, and Jauna Williams all of Decatur; one great-grandchild; special friend, Lisa Slaw and daughter Nichole and children; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Kimberly Michele Williams and two brothers, Arthur William Jr. and Steve Williams.
Homegoing celebration will be 11:00 am Saturday, May 22, 2010 in the Church of the Living God Temple # 1 PGT, 1915 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Decatur, IL with Overseer Tyrone P. Cooper officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service in the church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
