Edward Yoswig's Obituary
Edward (Big Ed) Yoswig, age 88, of Springfield, Il, died January 23, 2024 at Memorial Health Center from multiple cancers.
Ed was born on 2/24/1935 in Springfield, Il. He married his wife of 62 years, Sharon (Nettles) Yoswig, on March 24, 1962.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon; children, Timothy (Mary) and Tiffany (Mark); grandchildren; Sean (Shelby), Seth and Olivia; great-grandson, Asher and nieces and nephews.
Ed worked for Cox Transit and Illinois Bell. He retired from Illinois Bell in 1994 after 26 years of service. Served in the Army 37th Armored Division. Ed loved anything with an engine and if it was broken he would fix it.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, William and Emma; Brothers, Walter (Juanita) and Robert (Betty); nephew, Gary and twin daughters, Laura and Lori.
Memorials: Charity of donor’s choice , St. Jude, Shriners Children's Hospital, or Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
Celebration of Life February 24th, 2024 11 am at Eastview Baptist Church 2277 East Black Ave, Springfield, IL 62702 Lunch following service.
Cremation care has been entrusted to Moran and Goebel Funeral Home.
