Edwin Lee Clark's Obituary
Edwin (Ed) Lee Clark was 64 when he departed this earthly life Tuesday August 27, 2019 at St. Alexius Medical Center, in St. Louis, MO. and to all who knew him, he will be greatly missed.
Ed entered this world on May 22, 1955, the 6th child born to Herman and Verbena Clark, in Paducah, Kentucky. Ed was right at home on his father’s farm as a kid, for he spent time riding horses bareback, taking care of the animals, but he really enjoyed raising tobacco. Ed attended and graduated Lone Oak High School, where he challenged himself creatively during shop class and also played football, until a broken leg ended his career. After graduation he followed his beloved older brother Herman (Irvin), and planted himself in Decatur, Illinois.
While in Decatur Ed began to lay the groundwork for his future, at UPS. Shortly after that, he began a 30+year career at Caterpillar and served this Nation in the United States Air Force, where he received an Honorable Discharge. This enabled Ed to be a loving and caring husband, for he was married to his lifelong wife Teresa Clark, on November 22, 1980, who preceded him in death. Ed was an amazing provider for his children, grandchildren and other relatives, and was the go-to guy for everyone who knew him, always available to lend a hand or provide the fix, they could count on Ed. Not to mention while he was accomplishing all of these things, he made time to attend Richland Community College, receive a degree and even learned how to fly a plane. Ed began serving in ministry with the Ushers, at New Life Church of God, where he loved to join in fellowship, anytime the Men’s ministry got together, until his health began to fail.
Edwin (Ed) Clark, leaves behind to cherish his Loving Memories: his, Brothers Herman Irvin (Clara) Clark Jr., Prentice Wayne Clark, Daniel Wayne Clark; Sisters Belinda Marlene (Jason) Hill, Adelle Ballard, Sister in Law Beulah Johnson, Father and Mother in Law Willie and Dorothy Love; Sons Adrian (Tasha) Walker, and Edwin Shawnta Clark and daughter Brittany Clark. He also leaves his Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins, who loved him dearly.
Edwin was also preceded in death by his brother, George Robert Clark; and his three sisters, Maxcine Bernice Clark, Rose Mary Clark, and Bettie Rose Clark.
Homegoing services to celebrate his life will be 12 pm, Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Life Builders Church of God; visitation will be one hour before at the church. Interment with “Flight Home” ceremony will take place in Graceland Cemetery.
