Elaine Woodland's Obituary
Elaine Woodland, 59, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur.
Services to celebrate Elaine’s life will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
Elaine was born on May 9, 1956 in Covington, TN, the daughter of Willie and Mary (Murray) Woodland. She worked in retail for many years. Elaine enjoyed cooking, gardening, shopping, loved people, an avid Green Bay Packers fan, and mostly loved spending time with her family. Elaine was known as Mrs. “Praise the Lord”.
Elaine and the children’s father, Barry Lee Hill were in a committed relationship, and they shared over twenty wonderful years together. He proceeded her in death on December 24, 2005.
Cherishing her memories are her sons, Dulani Woodland Sr. of Decatur, IL, Keaton Woodland Sr. of Decatur, IL; brothers, Sammie Woodland of Decatur, IL, James (Norma) Woodland of Decatur, Walter Woodland of Decatur, IL, Hollice Woodland of Decatur, IL, Robert (Betty) Woodland of Decatur, IL, Jessie Alston of Millington, TN; sisters, Sylvia Tyus of Dysburg, TN, Mary Hill of Decatur, IL, Pearlene (Willie) Larrue of Covington, IL, Rosie Whitehead of Decatur, IL; grandchildren, Dequari, Deasan, Dulani, Destini, KJ Jr., a host of nieces and nephews, many other extended family members, and special friend, Betty Lou.
She was preceded in death by her children’s father, Barry Lee Hill, parents, brothers, Gerome Woodland, Willie Alston, sister, and Susie Jaen Woodland.
