Eleanor Louise Mayberry's Obituary
Decatur-Eleanor Louise (Jaco) Mayberry, 84, of Pensacola, FL, formerly of Decatur, passed away at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Health Center in Pensacola, FL.
Eleanor was born May 28, 1930 in Thebes, IL, the daughter of Louie J. and Esta M. (Jackson) Jaco. She was instrumental in helping to raise her children as well as multiple other generations and was known by many different names, i.e. Granny, Auntie M, Elno, Ellie, etc. Eleanor married Dewey C. Mayberry of Pulaski, IL. He preceded her in death in 1969.
She leaves behind her son D. Scott Mayberry and wife Keli of Pensacola, FL, grandsons Cody D. Mayberry and wife Tiffany of Amarillo, TX and Josiah D. Mayberry of Pensacola, FL, great-granddaughter Penny Jean Mayberry of Amarillo, TX, sisters Mary Ellen (Jaco) Sudduth of Maroa, IL and Joyce Ann (Jaco) Johnson of Nashville, TN, and multiple nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, daughter Mary L. (Schade) Colbert, and brothers Gerald Lee, Kenneth Wayne, and Jerry Paul Jaco.
Mrs. Mayberry will be remembered for her unfailing love and generosity. Those of us who knew and/or were related to Mrs. Mayberry are the better for it. She will be sorely missed.
Graveside services to celebrate Eleanor’s life will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pulaski, IL. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with a time of sharing immediately following visitation.
