I don't even know where to begin in stating my love for this little woman with a heart bigger than herself. I have known Ms. Boyd since I can remember. I remember her sauntering to the podium to welcome guests to our church and smiling all the while. I don't remember her EVER without one. My fondest memory is when she was riding to our home for dinner after church and she heard me humming and she said.."Chile, you hum? And I said, "All the time." She said…"Well I say." I didn't know what it meant to hum but I know now that it means contentment. You lived a wonderful life little lady and I know you are humming now. I love you. Anissa Epps Bloomfield, NJ US

My earliest flash of memory is my mom telling me to tell Mrs. Boyd how old I was and I held up the "OK" sign to represent three years old. Growing up, I got a kick out of using her to chart my growth. It was neat to me to see her and my grandma Savannah stand side by side because they were both shorty-do-wops! I enjoyed picking apples from her tree to make the best apple sauce ever and eating her infamous Cha Cha! When my grandma was too sick to attend my wedding, she graciously stood in for her friend. She represented all of my grandparents that day. The road trip to Texas for Thanksgiving a few years ago is a hilarious memory I’ll cherish forever! She didn’t go to sleep and didn’t have to use the restroom! Those were ironic characteristics just like her friend, my grandma Savannah! When I think of her, I think of all of my grandparents and the legacy they left. Mrs. Boyd, I will miss you like I miss them. I thank God you were an integral part of my family's life. I love you.
