Elleanora Lulu Clara Charlotte Rush's Obituary
Mrs. Rush graduated as valedictorian of her class from Forrest Township High School. She received her teaching certificate from Illinois State University and her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Education degrees from Millikin University. Mrs. Rush taught for more than forty-five years in the West Stringtown, Eldorado, Lakeview, Forsyth, and Decatur schools, retiring from teaching at Baum Elementary School in 1988. She continued to volunteer her time to promote reading as a tutor at Baum School and as a manager of the Macon County Historical Society White Book House. She would often be found in classrooms lecturing on history or sharing her experiences as a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse. Mrs. Rush was a long time member of First Lutheran Church, the Alpha Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, and the Baum Beauties. She married Robert W. Rush of Decatur in 1937. He preceded her in death in 1969.
Surviving are her children: son, Robert W. Rush Jr., wife Annette of Bloomington; daughters, Cheryl Towne, husband Clint of Danville, Marcia Cederberg, husband James of Cerro Gordo; grandchildren, Derek Rush, wife Becky, Matthew Rush, Jonathan Rush,Thomas A. Fox, Tisha McCoy, husband Larry, Timothy Fox, wife Kristy, and Charlotte Towne; great grandchildren, Lindsay McCoy, Emily McCoy, Ryan Faith Fox, Ashlyn Fox, Elaine Cederberg; step grandchildren, Curt Towne, wife Toni, and Scott Towne, wife Jane; step great grandchildren, Lewis Towne and Easton Towne.
