Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers.
She was an amazing mom, but the role she loved most was being a Mima. Her grandkids were her entire world. The way her face lit up when they were around, the love she had for them, and the pride she felt watching them grow is something we will never forget. To them she wasn’t just Mima — she was comfort, laughter, and the kind of love that made them feel like the most important people in the world.
Our hearts are broken, but we are incredibly grateful for the love she gave us, the memories she leaves behind, and the example of strength she showed every single day. She fought for a long time, and we know she’s finally at peace.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm, Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home; vigil prayer service will be at 4:30 pm. Funeral mass will be 10 am, Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Twp Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Decatur Catholic Charities.
