My fondest memory of Aunt Ellen was when I was only 16. We had moved to California when I was 14 and I was homesick for Decatur. My cousin Nancy visited us in California and then drove me back to Decatur after her visit. I spent the summer with Aunt Ellen and Uncle Bud and as always they treated me like a son instead of a nephew. As the years passed I didn't get to see her as often except for occasional visits to Decatur. When I did visit her she was always making quilts. She made quilts for all three of my grandkids when they were born. My grandkids are now 20, 12, and 8. May you rest in peace and without pain Aunt Ellen. We love you.
