Elvira Teresa Will's Obituary
Elvira Teresa Will, 73, was called to heaven on Tuesday, September 02, 2008 at 8:40 pm.
Elvira was born in Teutopolis, Illinois on June 24, 1935, the daughter of Leo and Lillian Probst Wernsing. She was a member of St. James and Patrick Catholic Church in Decatur. She graduated from Teutopolis High School in 1953. She retired from Walmart in May 2008 after 15 years of service. She volunteered many hours over the years at St. Patrick School and Church. She married Virgil Will on May 10, 1958. He preceded her in death on October 12, 1998.
Surviving are her daughter, Anita Burns of Decatur; daughter, Karla Makowicz and husband, Michael of Oklahoma City, OK; son, Kevin and wife, Beth of Effingham; daughter, Margie Toca and husband, Paul of Normal; daughter, Judy Blome and husband, Gary of Decatur ; daughter, Patricia Fryman and husband, John of Danvers; daughter, Janet Ervin and husband, Timothy of Normal; daughter, Joanne Durflinger and husband, Gregory of Stanford; 23 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; sister, Norma Berberich of Mt. Carmel; sister, Betty Schaufler and brother, Leroy Wernsing both of Teutopolis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Saturday, September 6, 2008 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday, September 5, 2008 from 5 to 8 pm at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with vigil prayer service at 4:30 pm. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St James and Patrick Catholic Church or St Teresa High School.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and son in law, Charles Burns.
Elvira was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to Carol Etchison for all the support she gave Elvira. The family has been overwhelmed with all the prayers, support and care given to our mom. We would like to thank each of you. Elvira will always be in our hearts and minds. We will love you always, Mom.
