Emily Cooney's Obituary
Emily Cooney, 90, of Decatur, died Thursday, February 15, 2007 in her home.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10:00 am Tuesday February 20, 2007 in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. James O'Shea as celebrant. Visitation will be on hour before services in the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials can be made to St. Teresa High School Building Fund.
Emily was born on December 4, 1916 in Ivesdale the daughter of Edmond and Anna Slaven Auth. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. She taught at St. Thomas Catholic Grade School and The Mt. Zion School District with twenty-three years of service. She married Harry G. Cooney on September 20, 1938 in Ivesdale. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2003.
Surviving are her son, Michael Cooney and wife Jill of Decatur; daughter, Anne M. Cooney of Tinley Park, grandchildren Shane Cooney of Irving, TX; Erin Cooney of Decatur; and Ryan Cooney and wife Jennifer of Homer AK.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, one sister, one son Thomas Cooney, and one infant daughter.
