Hello,My name is Carmalita Rhymes-Drane. Emily was my step mother. I loved her so much! I remember when my father, Larry Rhymes first introduced me to Emily. Her and I bonded right away. I remember daddy taking me over to her house when I was a little girl and watching Emily in the kitchen making glaze and cherries for her ham she was cooking. I remember Emily loved reading mysteries like me and how we use to sit up and read together when I was only 8 or 9 years old. I am 56 years old and I live in California now. I came back to Decatur in August 2017 and my other two sisters, Sally and Letha and my husband and son got to see her. She was so happy to see everyone. My sisters Sally and Letha said she looked the same, like she never aged. Emily was so loving and kind and I cherished our relationship. Emily was my step-mother, but she was my second Mother. I have so many cards and letters from her. Emily would give me advice about life and I will always Love her. I feel her spirit with me right now! I know Emily is in a better place and one of God's Angels. My condolence to her family and friends . Love Carmalita, Sally and Letha – Emily's daughters forever!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I was her mail lady. She was very sweet. I chatted with her often. It saddens me that I won't see her any more. I'll miss her.
