Emma Ruth Brooks' Obituary
Emma Ruth Brooks, 81, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday March 20, 2005 in Decatur Memorial Hospital with he family by her side.

Emma was born on May 2, 1923 in Dyersburg, TN. the daughter of John and Edna Wynne Nesbitt. She was a member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and past secretary. In her early years Emma was baptized and a member of Mercy Baptist Church in Brownsville, TN. She was proud of winning a beauty contest when in TN., she loved to work in the yard, and she loved to play and watch basketball but most of all she loved her chidren. Emma was a stay at home Mom however; she last worked as a presser at One Hour Martinizing. She married Logan Brooks in St. Louis, MO. in 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1973.
She leaves not to mourn but to cherish fond memories, her children: Shirley Davis, Louis Clark Davis, Jean and husband Johnnie Tyson all of Decatur; Rolanda and husband Daniel Russell III of Roanoke, VA; Betty Ann Brooks and Andre Brooks both of Decatur; Edna Brooks and Jacqueline Brooks both of Chicago; granddaughters: Jamin Wright; Ashley Johnson and Nia Jones; grandsons: Louis Clark, Jr. and Andre Eubanks; and a host of other relatives and friends
Her parents, husband and three brothers preceded her in death.
