Emma Green's Obituary
Mt. Zion – Emma Louise (Jarrett-Shaw) Green was born on March 23, 1945 in Brownsville, TN to the late Gladys Jarrett and Billie Shaw.
On Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 3PM, God gave Sister, Emma Louise (Jarrett-Shaw) Green her wings to fly home and to be free of her trials and tribulations of this world.
Emma professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Bluff Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Brownsville, TN. She received her education from Carver High School in Brownsville, TN. Throughout her life she had various types of jobs making her a very hardworking dedicated women.
Emma met the love of her life and was united in Holy Matrimony to Thomas Earl Green on November 6, 1965.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, sisters, Essie Jenkins and Brenda Shaw, and her brother Charles Frost.
Emma leaves to cherish her memories a loving husband, Thomas Green, son, Gregory Green; daughter, Teresa Green; step-son, Brett Taylor; sisters, Susie Shaw; Alma Shaw; Billie Doris Robinson; Elaine Merrill; Charline Manns all of Mansfield, OH; Norma Hines (Thomas) of Milwaukee, WI; Helen Bush of Bedford Heights, OH; Willine Harris of Cleveland, OH; Rebecca Blockett of Memphis, TN; brothers, Johnnie Bill Shaw of Mansfield, OH; Willie Lee Shaw Jr. of Cleveland, OH; special aunt, Pearlie Manns of Brownsville, TN; special cousin, Johnny Manns; two grandchildren that she raised Damarius Cobb and LeNiiya Deviner; grandchildren, Gregory M. Green; Marquis Green; London Green; Shikia Green; Carl Walker; Brett-ni Taylor; Brandy Taylor; Bryce Taylor; five great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Sangster; Martha Roby; Gladys Williams; Brenda Carter; brothers-in-law, Donald Green (Kim); Willie Green; Calvin Green (Kay), and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Cancer Care Specialist of Decatur, Dr. James Wade, LeAnn Rhinehart, and staff, DMH 5100 staff, Friends and family for their love and support.
Homegoing Celebration will be 11 AM Saturday, August 30, 2014 in Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor B. J. Tatum officiating. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Saturday in the church. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park.
